Views from the Edge - the Great British Coast 2000

Back to exhibitions

“Views from the Edge” draws on a stunning collection of newly commissioned photography to take visitors on a tour of the British Isles. The collection of pictures presents a thrilling image of diversity, unpredictability and beauty as captured by these talented photographers.  This exhibition celebrates the British Coastline.

Shown at the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich, this exhibition was positioned next to the museum’s display “The Future of the Sea” and focuses on the marine environment and contemporary issues affecting the coast today. The photographs record the distinctive coastal geography and flora, the ways in which people use the coast for work and play, and the challenges and opportunities facing this unique environment.
